Gathergram (Internship)

During the span of my internship, my main responsibility was creating a product demo video that effectively presented the app's main features to potential clientele. I was also tasked with making a few social media posters during my initial internship challenge. All rights to the posters and media created are reserved by Gathergram.app.

Project Introduction and Workflow

  • During my internship at Gathergram, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive product demo video showcasing the app’s key features. The process began with deep collaboration with the UX/UI design team, who had developed wireframes, prototypes, and a full UX/UI kit—all aligned with Gathergram’s branding guidelines in Figma.

  • My first step was to carefully export all relevant assets from Figma, including icons, logos, and UI elements, and then bring these into Adobe XD to set up the animation-friendly layouts. From there, I imported everything into After Effects, where the real creative work began. I had to craft original animations and footage using the provided assets, ensuring each element adhered strictly to the branding guidelines.

This meant:

  • Designing and animating custom transitions and effects using the app’s UI kit

  • Creating unique motion assets while maintaining a consistent visual language

  • Incorporating the Gathergram logo and branding colors throughout the video

  • Building scenes that translated the static wireframes and prototypes into dynamic, engaging motion content

  • Ensuring seamless integration between UX/UI design and animation to create a polished final video

Because this was a large-scale project spanning a significant amount of time, attention to detail was paramount. The challenge lay not just in animating, but in preserving the user experience essence through motion, making the app feel intuitive and exciting for potential users.

The Key features highlighted include:

  • Cash Gift Giving: Allowing guests to send monetary gifts seamlessly within the app.

  • AI-Powered Wishes & Messages: Intelligent, personalized messaging tools powered by AI to create meaningful, heartfelt communications.

  • AI Tagging: Automated tagging for photos and content, enhancing user interaction and organization.

  • Photo Sharing: Enabling wedding attendees to upload and share photos within the app’s community.

  • Love Story Sharing: Couples can narrate and share their unique love story as part of the app experience.

  • Digital Guestbook: A modern, interactive alternative to traditional guestbooks for collecting memories and messages.

  • Wedding Trivia: A fun trivia feature designed to entertain guests during the wedding event.

The deliverable
  • The final deliverable was a polished product demo video that effectively showcased Gathergram’s core features, designed to grab and hold user attention while clearly communicating the app’s value proposition.

The biggest challenge was structuring the video to prioritize these features in a way that aligned with what users would find most important and engaging. I focused on pacing, visual hierarchy, and graphic clarity to maintain viewer interest throughout, balancing feature depth with simplicity to avoid overwhelming the audience. The final product not only demonstrated the app’s technical capabilities but also reinforced Gathergram’s brand identity and user-centric design approach.
